The Brief

As Vans were due to launch their footwear and apparel collaboration with the Harry Potter franchise, they approached ipos for an impactful window display that would attract passers-by to the in-store event being held in the schuh Oxford Street store.

The approach

The key focus was to capture the essence of magic that is associated with the world of Harry Potter. This led to the idea of utilising a new 3D hologram technology called ‘Hyprvsn’. The L.E.D and propeller based tech played bespoke animations based on 4  footwear options referencing the 4 Hogwart houses. I was able to capture the shoes in 3D by using a process called photogrammetry. The reverse side of the window was re-purposed as an area to dispense jelly bean to attendees. The idea behind this was to create an enjoyable in-store give-away but also allow for an analogue way of collecting user data.

The outcome

A great event that increase footfall on the opening weekend as well as creating a shareable moment for socials as people we mesmerized by the graphics floating in mid-air.
